Absorbine Team Member Spotlight - Sara Esthus

You love your horse, and we love that! Every month we’ll be asking one of our friends from social media to showcase their horses and share a few words in our Absorbine Spotlight!

This time we direct the spotlight on Sara and Teenage King (aka “Hobbes”), her 8 y.o. Thoroughbred gelding. Sara is a valued team member here in the Absorbine Marketing & Sales department!

Absorbine: What do you do with your horse?

Sara: We event, hunter pace and trail ride – anything outside!

Absorbine: What Absorbine products do you like, and why did you start using them?

Sara: I’ve been using ShowSheen for as long as I can remember, it’s just always been a staple in my grooming box and around the barns where I’ve ridden. I also really love Santa Fe for its deep conditioning and also our new Bigeloil Quilted Poultice Wraps. I started using the poultice wraps when we were developing the product and have kept it up because they make it so easy to take care of his legs after a hard workout.

Absorbine: Any fun horse care tips you’d like to share? Can include product tricks or “out of the box” uses.

Sara: I swear by ShowSheen and Santa Fe – I alternate them on his mane and tail during the week to keep them both shiny and super soft. When I first got Hobbes he needed a lot of grooming attention and had a short, not-so-great tail – I worked hard to get him looking his best and now he has a long, beautiful tail that I may be a little obsessed with…

Absorbine: What’s the funniest thing non-horse people ask you about horses?

Sara: When they think all horse events are races – how was your race last weekend? So, do you race your horse?

Absorbine: What do you love most about your horse?

Sara: I love the bond that we have – we know each other very well thanks to countless hours both on the ground and riding. He is super curious and has a definite sense of humor – he knows how to zip and unzip jackets. When it comes to riding he is up for anything, he learns quickly and really loves his job.

Absorbine: Thanks for sharing your life with Hobbes with us Sara!
