Brooke/Brooke USA

Brooke is the world’s largest international equine welfare organization, dedicated to alleviating the suffering of working equines in developing countries. Founded in 1934 by Dorothy Brooke, who began Brooke’s legacy by rescuing 5,000 abandoned World War I warhorses in Egypt, the organization has continued to serve the estimated 100 million working equines around the globe. These horses, mules, and donkeys support the livelihoods of over 600 million people, making their health and wellbeing paramount to the survival of their owners. Brooke now works actively in eleven countries, helping to alleviate and prevent avoidable suffering through medical intervention, education and training, and infrastructure development. In 2016 alone, Brooke served over two million equines, helping to secure the livelihood of over 12 million people in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Central America. Absorbine® is proud to support the Brooke’s tremendously important mission, a mission that is reflected in our own legacy of dedication to improving the lives of horses.
