No shaking necessary. After cleaning the hoof, apply Thrush Remedy into clefts of frog and any holes or cracks. For active infections, treat once daily for at least three days. For maintenance, treat twice weekly.

I wrote this on the tractor supply site but wanted to leave it here too. I have four horses living in Alabama with unpredictable weather that goes from wet to dry and back to wet with basically no warning. I had basically accepted thrush as a fact of life, as it seemed to return even with proper hoof care and trimming. My cases weren’t severe, but they were very persistent. My vet recommended this to help stop it from getting worse, as he basically told me in this part of the country, getting rid of thrush entirely is kind of a losing battle. However, after just one application, all of my affected horses showed almost total improvement overnight. I’m talking no more black stuff or smell after ONE use. It was like a miracle. I’m now using it as a preventative. Hooflex has a customer for life!!!
This thrush remedy by Absorbine really seems to be working. I like the nozzle so you can get into the cracks of their frog/hoof. It must not hurt when applies as neither pulled away. Thats a big plus too! The one thing I wish was different is the cap. It does not stay on very well and spills so easily. I already spilled some of the bottle I just purchased today before I even got to my horse. There is no seal either when it is purchased new...only the small black cap. Hoping that is something that can be fixed in the near future.
I purchased hooflex a few years ago and still haven’t finished the bottle. I wanted to give it a go since it was more affordable than my current thrush fighting product, but it was not as effective. It does work, but if you’re in a wet/muddy climate I can’t say it’s the best option out there
I would recommend putting in a spray bottle otherwise it gets everywhere. Otherwise, the product works well, especially in the winter
I have this for many years. It gets rid of thrush very quickly. It doesn't stain the horses legs. It is clear which is great. I highly recommend it.
