Absorbine® Honors Farriers at the 2025 Kappy Kaplan Farrier Appreciation Event

W.F. Young, the trusted name behind Absorbine®, and with Back on Track® USA proudly sponsored the 2025 Kappy Kaplan Farrier Appreciation Dinner and Awards, continuing its commitment to the farrier community and equestrian excellence. The annual event, held during the Winter Equestrian Festival’s (WEF) Week Nine, Five-Star competition, the $500,000 Bainbridge Companies CSI5 Grand Prix, honored the invaluable contributions of farriers while celebrating the legacy of Herman “Kappy” Kaplan, an iconic figure in the industry.

 

Hosted at Wellington International, the evening brought together farriers, industry professionals, and equestrian supporters to recognize individuals who exemplify dedication to hoof care, education and the well-being of horses.

Honoring Industry Leaders

This year’s event included the Friend of the Farrier Award presentation, which recognizes individuals who advocate for and support the farrier profession. W.F. Young and Back on Track were proud to present this prestigious honor to Bryan Quinsey, former executive director of the American and International Association of Professional Farriers (2011-2023) and founder of the newly renamed Farrier Education Fund. Quinsey, who has dedicated his career to advancing education and professional development for farriers, was celebrated for his lasting impact on the industry.

 

Cairy introduced two new farrier excellence awards to be launched at the event in 202

  • The Farrier Apprentice Achievement Award will recognize aspiring farriers dedicated to learning the trade through hard work and passion.

  • The Farrier Achievement Award will honor a farrier who exemplifies the same methodical, ethical and horse-first approach that Kappy Kaplan was known for.

Equestrian Sport Productions Director of Sponsorship Lenore Brown, was also honored for her dedication to the annual Kappy Kaplan event and presented with framed art by Weatherly Stroh.
