You love your horse, and we love that! The Absorbine Spotlight series is where we share an equestrian's connection with horses with the rest of us!
This time, we're featuring one of our own - Lily Fleming. Lily is our eCommerce Marketing Coordinator here at Absorbine. She helps make sure when you see Absorbine products on our partner retail websites, they look their best and have all of the correct information. Here's a little bit about Lily and her life with horses!
Absorbine: What do you do with you horses?
Lily: Between working at the office and teaching lessons at the barn, I make time to hop on and enjoy an afternoon hack to clear my mind.
Absorbine: What do you love most about horses?
Lily: Their ability to turn my day around if I’m feeling stressed or overwhelmed just by being themselves. They are such therapeutic animals!
Absorbine: Any fun horse care tips you’d like to share? Can include tricks or “barn hacks.”
Lily: Use a wire brush from any hardware store to help gently but thoroughly clean out the sole of your horse's hoof to get the best application of hoof care products!
Absorbine: What Absorbine products do you like, and why did you start using them?
Lily: Hooflex Therapeutic Conditioner Liquid because it works wonders throughout all the New England seasonal weather changes and helps my horses feet stay healthy and strong. UltraShield EX because I can use it on my horse AND my barn dog for protection against flies, fleas, and ticks during the summer.
Absorbine: Name some people who’ve had a big impact on your horsemanship.
Lily: Erin Cecchini, owner of Five Star Performance Horses, along with the doctors at Millington Equine, have played an invaluable role in shaping my horsemanship. Through their patient instruction and hands-on guidance, I’ve developed a much deeper understanding of equine behavior, health, and effective communication with horses. Their mentorship has taught me not only how to care for horses properly, but also how to build trust, confidence, and partnership in every interaction
Absorbine: What’s the funniest thing non-horse people ask you about horses?
Lily: When a new student calls the “mounting block” the “mountain block” it always gives me a good laugh!
