Contains ineffective ingredients.

I bought this at my local feed store hoping to give my aging mare some much-needed joint relief. Then I came across a study that indicated that the main ingredients - Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and Hyaluronic acid (HA) - have been scientifically shown to have little bioavailability and efficacy in horses (and dogs!). I then did more research to see if the study results were supported/replicated in other studies, and it turns out that the study's findings were on the mark! Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and orally-administered Hyaluronic Acid (HA) have low bioavailability and efficacy in horses and dogs (this does not apply to HA injections, which are by far more effective).

I have no idea why animal supplement manufacturers continue to use ingredients like this that have little bioavailability or efficacy, other than to trick us into thinking that we're doing the best for our animals. It's time to start demanding better for our animals. Look up clinical studies (that aren't sponsored by the supplement manufacturer, LOL) that are studying the effectiveness of the main ingredients and see for yourself so that you don't spend money on expensive "filler" ingredients that do little for your horse's health.

Instead, I will be focusing my search for joint supplements with scientifically-proven ingredients such as MSM, Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA), ASU, Rose Hip, Resveratrol, and Green-Lipped Mussel WITHOUT ineffective ingredients like glucosamine, chondroitin, and HA.

Flex+Max contains no fillers - every single ingredient is functional and based on research. Flex+Max has not sponsored clinical studies of this product to skew results. There are many many studies showing the effectiveness of glucosamine and chondroitin. Here is a summary of just one: https://ker.com/equinews/chondroitin-sulfate-and-glucosamine-effective-against-equine-osteoarthritis/ We'd be interested to know what exact study you are referring to above? There are many out there on this subject.

Absorbine Flex+Max

So far so good my gelding eats them up great and very easy to pour on feed. He's moving really nicely, he's an older barrel horse I am pulling out of retirement so started him on these pellets. I have not been on them long enough, started May 29th, to give full review but hes full of energy running around with my others no problem. Really liking them this far.

A miracle in a bag!

in the early summer we were thinking of retiring my 17 year old horse, because he had developed arthritis and even with injections was still a little off in the front right. Fast forward after 2-3 months of Flex max, he is a different horse!!. He zips around like there's no tomorrow, with no lameness and 0 pain. He is the happiest he's ever been. An absolute miracle.
