Team Absorbine Spotlight - Eventer Whitney Mahloch
Posted by Animal Care Team onA brief interview with eventer and Team Absorbine member Whitney Mahloch. She describes her progress in the sport, and some thoughts on her preparation for her upcoming competition at the Richland Horse Trials.
Team Absorbine® member Whitney Mahloch and her horse Military Mind, “Milo”, are competing this weekend at the Richland Park Horse Trials. Whitney hopes to use her scores to qualify for the Fair Hill CCI3*** in October, part of her long-term goal of doing her first CCI4**** with Milo next year. “This is our second time competing at Richland. We did the CIC3*** there last year and we’re going to try it again. We had a really good start to our show last time, but we had a bit of a rough finish. So this time we’re going to finish strong.” We love your enthusiasm and determination Whitney!
Speaking with Whitney on her very long drive from Ocala, FL to Michigan, she says, “I’m ready to nail it in all three phases this year.” Going in, Whitney feels most confident about the dressage. “I know we can put in a really good dressage test and I know we can rock it on the cross country, so these last two months we have really been working on show jumping. It’s been coming along quite nicely.” We are excited to see the results of her and Milo’s hard work! “I’m feeling very confident and excited and think that we can really put it all together this time and that all the stars are going to be aligned.”
We are excited to be there to support Whitney and Milo with Absorbine® grooming products. “I love ShowSheen®. I’ve used ShowSheen® all my life, all the time. I also love SantaFe®. It makes their coats feel really nice, without being slippery, so I never have any worries about tack sliding. We’ve got to keep that show ring glimmer going for us!”
Whitney and Milo will ride their dressage test on Thursday, and then have a day to rest before going cross country on Saturday and finishing with show jumping on Sunday. To follow their progress throughout the weekend, look for updates on Whitney’s Facebook page, Whitmore Equestrian.
